Phishing Prevention
No person or business is immune to phishing attacks. Scammers launch thousands of phishing attacks every day, and they're often successful.
We are consistently up to speed and prepared on the latest prevention and security measures, however, we need you to protect yourself, to fight this together. The best protection is awareness and education.
Take extra precautions
- Pay attention to the email address of the sender instead of the name of the sender as this can be easily altered. When unsure, press reply and look at the address. Fraudulent parties try to obtain confidential data from you by changing the display name in emails, and even add an email address you might trust in the name field to trick you. Emails from Screening Eagle companies originate from screeningeagle.com and automatically generated communications with mailchimp, hubspot and sugarcrm.
- Don't click on links or open attachments in suspicious/unsolicited emails. Phishing emails are designed to appear legitimate. Hover over links that you are unsure of before clicking on them. Do they lead where they are supposed to lead? If you are unsure, try to verify it by contacting your local Screening Eagle / Proceq representative.
- Don't reveal financial information in an email, and do not respond to email solicitations for this information. This includes following links sent in email.
- Don't respond to urgency. Attacks are designed to take advantage of a user's possible lapse in decision-making. They will implore you to act immediately, will offer something that sounds too good to be true or ask for personal and financial information.
- Pay attention to the website's URL. Malicious websites may look identical to a legitimate site, but the URL may use a variation in spelling or a different domain (e.g., proceqinc.com, proceqmail.com, screeningseagle.com, screaningeagle.com).
- Verify the site security – there should be a closed lock icon near the address bar. Check for the site's security certificate as well. If you get a message stating a certain website may contain malicious files, do not open the website. Never download files from suspicious emails or websites.
- If you have received or are aware of this type of communication on behalf of any of the Screening Eagle companies, please report it to us via the form below. Please keep suspicious emails and attachments until the investigation is completed. The Screening Eagle security team will contact you.
- If you believe your financial accounts may be compromised, contact your financial institution immediately.
- Consider reporting the attack to your local police / Internet Crime department.
